Training

I have a very good Training Program That you can check it out here at  http://www.howrse.com/joueur/fiche/

Training to 100 BLUP This is a training program given to me by Canuk, who unfortunetly is no longer on the game, but it is for arabs, and I use it with some of my own secret modifications, to get a horse to 100 BLUP by age 10.
AFTER PLAY
RIDES

1. do all of your short trot rides
example: groom/salt/carrot/ short trot ride 1 hour 3x/ short trot ride 30 minutes/ stroke 2x/ turnip/ drink/ 5.5 hours box/ 2 hours pasture/ 30 minute short trot ride/ feed as needed

do this until you don't gain any more skill.
spend as much time in the box as you can until you find - the saddle cloth, the blanket and the whip

2. do all long gallop rides
example: groom/salt/carrot/ 5 hours long gallop ride/ stroke 2x/ turnip/ drink/ 4.5 hours box/ pasture until 21:30/ feed as needed

3. do all long hilly rides
example: groom/salt/carrot/ 4 hours hilly rides/ stroke 2x/turnip/ drink/4 hours in the box/ pasture until 21:30/ feed as needed

by doing the rides you gain 103 skill points, a good bonus when you start doing comps. most people don't bother with rides until the end so by doing then you get more skill points.

you should be done all rides around 4 years.
the chances of your horse winning comps when they are under 6 years is slim so use this time for training only.
TRAINING

When you are done all your rides you move onto this stage.

for arabs you want to train in this order:
1. Dressage
2. Speed
3. Galloping
4. Jumping
5. Trotting
** i'll talk stamina in a bit

when you are about to start training for Trotting increase the time you spend in the box you'll want to find grease.

i don't recommend doing ANY comps until you are done training up to trotting. why? because your chances of winning stil aren't that high yet.

now when you have grease and/or are done training everything BUT stamina do comps in this order:
1. cross country
2. show jumping
3. speed races - galloping

when you have maxed out skill gain from all these comps go back and enter about 30 more cross country comps. Days' membership: 402 days Karma: 110 points Equestrian center: Kaytarah Meadows
Go to page: 1 By sassyk on 12 january 2008 14:36:39 TAKE A BREAK

after you have fished this last stage take an hour or so break to let your comps finish up. no need to waste age time on excess races right? after about an hour most of your comps should be done.

when you have 16- 18 wins THEN train in stamina.

Stamina training is what puts you into the higher skill classes (the 100% comps) so since arabs naturally have high stamina there is no need to train it until the last possable moment.

by doing this method and taking the breaks you should have your horse to 100 BLUP no later than 11 years old. Days' membership: 402 days Karma: 110 points Equestrian center: Kaytarah Meadows
By sassyk on 21 april 2008 01:41:59 tigrelily shared this method for us, so I thought I would put it here, so you have another perspective

Hi!
I thought it looked awfully familiar so I looked thru my notes and found this, which is also for Arabians:

first do the foal play method and never play if the temp is under 3 degrees the 2 degree method does not work unless you use black orchids for months 8 - 12.

get a chrono at 1 year 8 months

do all the long rides first
do all the short rides in trotting as you can do more rides that way
during this time spend as much time as you can in the box
example: 4 hours hilly rides/groom/ stoke /stroke /carrot/ turnip/ drink/ salt/ 5 hours in teh box/ 2 hours pasture/ feed as required/ 1/2 hour trot ride if you have 13 energy

when you are done long hilly rides: do gallop rides
example: groom/ salt/ carrot/ 5 hours gallop rides/ stroke/ stroke/ carrot/ drink/ turnip/ 4 hours box/ 2 hours pasture/ feed as needed/ again 1/2 hour trot ride if you have extra energy

when you are done long gallop rides do long trot rides:
example: groom/ salt/ drink/ 6 hours trot rides/ stroke / stroke/ carrot/ 4 hours box/ 1.5 pasture/ feed as needed/ short trot ride if you have extra energy

when you are done all of the long rides: do short rides in trot.
example: groom/ salt/ carrot/ 1 hour trot/ 1 hour trot/ 1 hour trot/ half hour trot/ carrot turnip etc.....

when you are done all short rides train in this order: Dressage, Galloping, Trotting, Jumping.

NOW YOU COMPETE DO NOT COMPETE BEFORE THIS IT IS A WASTE you should have found a whip, a saddle cloth and a blanket with all that box time and your horse should be around 6-7 years old.

good idea to buy wings or hep shoes at this point

do show jumping comps till you don't gain anymore skill points

do cross country comps till you don't gain any more skill points

now enter your horse in about 30 cross country comps making sure that the horses morale is 100% at all times before doing a comp
example: before you do comps ALWAYS groom/salt/ carrot them then enter the comp

after your horse has been entered in like 30 comps walk away from the computer or do something else for an hour or two this gives the comps time to finish and you don't do more than you have to do.

you can do up to 6 cross country comps per day
you can do up to 8 show jump comps per day
you can do 3-5 speed races a day

if you are doing cross country comps
example: groom/salt/ carrot/ 6 Xcountry comps (2 hours each)/ box half hour/ feed put to sleep

always enter the lowest skill comp you can find even if it isn't just your breed in the comp.

when you have 15+ wins then enter another 20 comps

now train in speed then in stamina as stamina bumps you into higher skill level comps

your horse should have their 20 wins by age 10 or close to it 12 years tops. and you should have 4 skills bold and 100 BLUP
okay why train 4 skills not 3 --> why not? it takes the same amount of time because you need to "age up" after the method as all requirements for 100 BLUP are usually met before 10 years so if you have the time why not train the extra bold?

by doing all long rides first you get all of the points for the various rides by finishing speed in short rides you get to do 1 more ride per day because it takes up less energy than doing short slope land rides and you get the same skill gain. after a point short slope land rides only give you speed bonuses.

as for rides if you have the extra energy do them but in general i find the skill gain is to low ( example my barns gain from lessons is 0.096) for them to be worth doing until they are the only way to earn skill points.

why do show jump comps? because by doing them first until you can't gain any more you have a higher chance of winning because you are up against, typically, lower skilled horses. in short you are the horse that people hate because you bacically sharp shoot the comp because you are at a much higher skill level in all areas except stamina and speed. doing this will get you a good 8 wins when it comes down to it and it also bolds out your jumping, in short QUICK EASY WINS

why not just compete in X country? because it takes so bloody long sometimes for the comps to refresh why not do some show jumping to get some more wins in while the X country races need time to finish?

I can't remember who I got it from cuz it was so long ago. I just thought I'd share.

TRAINING YOUR HOWRSE

See below for how to get the max possible GP gain through games with your foal.. Its is then followed on by how to 100 blup and bold out all skills by age 10.

This will work in Sring/Summer/Autumn providing he is in boarding in good facilities with plenty grazing and carrots, you need also to have salt stone and turnips..

To successfully train by age 10 follow this guide, you will need to give him a chronos timer, I always give hephaestus's shoes, also elous wind as an option... You will need a made to measure saddle and bridle to for max benefit in competitions..

Notes

1.if at any point you do not have 100% morale after pasture groom the horse! If still not 100% give an apple to (he is being awkward!! LOL)

2. If it above 1° keep him in the pasture at night he will loose less energy. If you are left with any time in a day put him in box to try and get rug

3. If at any time you have energy or 35 and an hour spare do a lesson.

***********************20 months ***********************

Your horse will not be in top form so you can use a black orchid or just ride with it..

6 hours pasture, stroke, stroke, groom, carrot, turnip, salt stone, drink and feed

then do 2 1hour short galloping rides or 1 1hour and 1 half hour depending on energy, 1 hour uses 33% and a half hour uses 16.5.

**************22 months **************

4 hours pasture then 3 x 1 hour short galloping rides, stroke, stroke, groom, carrot, drink, feed (use turnip if not left with 20% energy)

**************Follow the next bit from 2 years through to 2 years 10 months**************

4 hours pasture, 3 x 1 hour short galloping rides, stroke, stroke, groom, carrot, turnip, drink feed (give an extra 10 ounces) then 1 hour dressage training (if your howrse has eaten beetroot you may manage more)

**************3 years **************

4 hours pasture, 1 x short galloping ride if you used black orchid and did 3 at 20months. If you didnt you will have to do another 1 or 1.5 hours short gallop rides.

Use the rest of available energy on dressage training, stroke, stroke, groom, carrot, turnip, drink, feed (give extra 10 ounces), 1 hour dressage training.

**************3 years 2months - 4 years**************

4 hours pasture, 4 hours long hilly ride, stroke, stroke, groom, carrot, turnip, drink, feed (give extra 20 ounces) 2 hours dressage training or 2.5 if your horse has eaten beetroot

**************4 years 2 months**************

4 hours pasture, 1.5 hour long hilly ride, do any dressage training thats left. stroke, stroke, groom, carrot, turnip, drink, feed, Then do as much speed training as possible with what energy is left (remember to leave 20%)

To save my fingers from now on when I use the term treats and feed, I mean this

STROKE, STROKE, GROOMING (IF NOT DONE AT START), CARROT, TURNIP, SALT STONE (REMEMBER THIS CAUSE YOU SHOULDNT HAVE NAUGHT IT UP TIL NOW), WATER, FEED (GIVE AN EXTRA 10 OUNCES)

Ok so by now you should have finished dressage training, done all long jumping rides and short galloping rides.. Your horse will be 4 years and 4 months old..

**************4 years 4 month to 4 years 10 months**************

4 hours pasture, 6 hours long trot ride, treats and feed (remember salt stone too) then 1 hour galloping training Or 1.5 if you get beetroot.

**************5 years **************

4 hours pasture, 1.5 hour long trot ride, 4.5 hours speed training, treats and feed, 1 hour speed training.

**************5 years 2 months and 5 years 4 months**************

3.5 hours pasture, groom, 6 hours speed training, treats and feed, 1 hour speed training

**************5 years 6 months and 5 years 8 months**************

3.5 hours pasture, groom, 7 hours galloping training, treats and feed, 1 hour galloping training

**************5 years 10 months**************

3.5 hours pasture, groom, 5 hours galloping, 1 hour speed, treats and feed, 1.5 hours jumping training

***************6 years and 6 years 2 months**************

3 hours pasture, groom, 7 hours jumping training, treats and feed, 1 hour jumping training

**************6 years 4 months**************

3 hours pasture, groom, 7 hours jumping training, treats and feed, 1/2 hour jumping, 1/2 hour trotting training

**************6 years 6 months to 6 years 10months**************

3 hours pasture, groom, 7 hours trot training, treats and feed, 1 hour trot training

**************7 years**************

1/2 hour box, 3.5 hours pasture, groom, 1 hour trot training

THE HORSE SHOULD NOW BE FULLY TRAINED IN ALL DISIPLINES EXCEPT STAMINA (THAT COMES LATER) DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING IS DONE AT THIS POINT.

If it is you will be able to now do 4 galloping races, treats and feed

**************7 years 2 months and 7 years 4 months**************

1/2 hour box (this is to try and get tub of grease but dont worry if you dont get it) Do this at the start of every day during competitions (unless you get it of course), you can also pick up other items, a whip, saddle cloth and a rug, this is also how you get the salt stone if you aint got one already. Carrot, salt stone, groom (apple if morale aint 100%) 5 x gallop races, treats and feed.. If your horse uses over 20% per race give a drink or carrot after the 4th.

**************7 years 6 months**************

1/2 hour box, carrot, salt stone, groom (apple if required) enter 1 x gallop race and 4 x trot races, treats and feed (speed, dressage, and galloping should now be bolded out)

***************7 years 8 months and 7 years 10 months**************

1/2 hour box, carrot, salt stone, grooming (apple if req) enter 5 x trotting races (again if your horse uses more than 20% energy give drink or carrot after 4th race

***********************8 years old**************

1/2 hour box, carrot, salt stone, groom (apple if req) enter 1 x trot race (trotting should now be bolded out) and as many jumping competition you can with the energy you have left (hopefully 4 or 5, go for the easiest ones you can) treats and feed.

**************8 years 2 months and 8 years 4 months**************

1/2 hour box, carrot, salt stone, groom (apple if req) enter as many jumping comps as you can to a max 6, feed and treats.

Ok so by now everything apart from stamina should be bolded out, and you horse should be about to turn 8.5.

**************8 years 6 months and 8 years 8 months**************

Carrot, salt stone, grooming, enter 6 x cross country competitions, stroke once, drink and feed.

***************8 years 10 months**************

Carrot, salt stone, grooming, enter 1 x cross country competition then 5 hours stamina training
treats and feed

**************9 years and 9 years 2 months**************

4 hours pasture, 6 hours stamina training, treats and feed, 1 hour stamina training

**************9 years 4 months**************

4 hours pasture, 6 hours stamina training, treats and feed, lesson

**************9 years 6 months**************

everything should now be bolded out, if not go back and check that all training, rides and comps are done. Enter as many show jumping comps as possible, treats and feed.

**************9 years 8 months and 9 years 10 months**************

carrot, salt stone, groom and enter jumping comps and maybe do some lessons then go away and do something and hopefully when you come back your horse will have at least 20 wins and when you age him to 10 his blup will be 100 and all skills bolded out... Training Schedule for PAINTS and THOROUGHBREDS:

1. Pasture for 1.5 hours
2. Salt stone
3. Grooming
4. Lesson
5. Feeding (forage to give a total of 13lbs and 80ounces grain*)
6. Lesson
7. 1 hour gallop*
8a. 3 hours gallop training until complete
8b. once gallop training complete: 2.5 hours speed training, 30min dressage until speed complete
8c. dressage training (as long as possible with energy remaining)
9. stroke
10. stroke
11. carrot
12. Drink
NOTE: when you get to this point you should have at least 19-20% energy left. 3 hours in a box will raise energy 1%. If you have less, give a turnip and if you can add an additional 30 minutes of training.
13. remaining time in box

once galloping is complete (gain of 0% during ride) i move on to 1 hour trotting ride until speed is complete.

If speed is completed before galloping i do a 1.5 hour ride of galloping until speed is complete.

Dressage has always maximised first for me, so i don't have to worry about that.

30 minutes of galloping training should take 7% energy
30 minutes of dressage training should take 5% energy
30 minutes of speed training should take 8% energy Days' membership: 402 days Karma: 110 points Equestrian center: Kaytarah Meadows
